Letter From The President

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year at McKinney Boyd High School!  Thank you for visiting the PTO website.  Here you can join, volunteer, purchase spirit gear, get information about our events and programs, and more!

This year, we have a pretty big change. MISD has a policy related to federal funding that no food or beverages can be sold at Boyd during the school day so we won't be able to raise money for our programs with profits from snacks sold at the store.

Here's the support we'd love from you:

1.  JOIN THE PTO - Click the "Join US" icon below to join and either update or create your online account.  Membership does not require volunteering.  Membership is a financial donation to our organization which enables us to provide for students and staff at Boyd through our various programs.  Membership also includes participation in and access to our online member directory, if you chose to be listed there.

2.  PURCHASE SPIRIT GEAR - We have designed some fun, creative gear to help you and your students show their school spirit and get behind our awesome school sports, clubs, and groups.

3.  VOLUNTEER - We will need volunteers for the school store (to sell spirit gear and school supplies type items), to help us sell memberships and spirit gear at various events, for staff appreciation events, for PTO fundraisers, and other needs that may arise.  Please complete the volunteer form and our volunteers coordinator will contact you.

4.  VISIT PTO TABLEWe will have our Bronco Spirit Store open for spirit wear and membership sales at the following school-wide events:

  • August 9th   Freshman Bronco Camp
  • September 5th Pep Rally
  • September 8th Meet the Teacher
  • September 12th Meet the Principal at PTO General Meeting
  • October 9th Homecoming Pep Rally
  • October 24th Crosstown Showdown Pep Rally

5.  Become a PTO SPONSOR - McKinney Boyd loves to support our community and we know our community loves to support McKinney Boyd students and families.  Become a PTO sponsor and we will include your logo on our website and social media outlets.  Click on the Be a PTO Sponsor tab for more information.

For membership questions, please contact Stacey Pearlman at boydptomembership@gmail.com.  For questions about volunteering, please contact Emily Cox at boydptovolunteers@gmail.com.  Please follow us on Facebook or Instagram @mbhspto for the most up to date PTO information and events.  We wish all our Bronco families a successful and healthy year ahead.

GO BRONCOS!!

Boyd PTO programs that support students and staff

Teacher Needs -  We provide items that teachers can use to enhance the learning process which are not possible within their usual funds allotted by the district.  This year, our budget for this program is $20,000.  We have already funded new entryway mats with a prominent Boyd logo.

Scholarships - For the last several years, we have been able to provide scholarship awards to graduating seniors through the McKinney Education Foundation.  We have a new endowment called the Steadfast Supporter award that gives $2500 to a family who has been PTO members for all four years!  We have also awarded four $1000 scholarships (two for PTO members, two selected from all Boyd applicants) and four $1000 First In Family scholarships to graduating seniors who are the first in their families to receive their high school diploma.  This year our budget for scholarships is $10,500.

Staff Appreciation - We provide various meals and snacks to our hardworking Boyd Staff throughout the school year with a budget of $7000.  Food item contributions are still needed as well so look for Sign-Up Genius sign-ups to sign up to bring food or beverages.

Project Graduation and MISD Police Academy - Project Graduation is a district wide event for seniors on the night of graduation for graduates to celebrate in a safe, fun environment.  The Teen Police Academy is a program for our district youth in the summer months to build leadership skills and develop character.  Our budget this year is $5500 to donate to these organizations.

We also fund the following: annual Academic Banner that hangs in the school atrium, special requests by Boyd administration, and contributions to various student groups.

Our approved 2025-26 budget is available via link on homepage.
